White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. The music, dancing and story line always make me feel good. Bing had a wonderfully smooth voice and Danny Kaye's comedic timing was impeccable.

I did like the film actually. I was given it as one in a bundle of old vids. I was pleasantly surprised. My all time fave is Gladiator. Not very original I know, but Russel Crowe(doesn't normally do it for me) Joaquin Phoenix!(need I say more), beautiful scenery, spine chillingly gorgeous music and fantastic performances from Oliver Reed(bless his soul) and Richard Harris(his too). plus a good all round love story with a bit of blood and gore thrown into the mix, what more can a woman want!

Fritz Lang's Metropolis. The camerawork and techniques used to create the film were so revolutionary that several modern directors have admitted they are in awe of it even 80 years after its original showing.
The story also is very reminiscent of the NAzi era, and it was one of Hitler's favourite films, as the idea of slaves being freed from tyranny of the rich is very similar to the Nazi ideas.
It also is the basis for several of one of my favourite band's albums, Kraftwerk's The Man Machine, of which one track is called Metropolis. The band have said they did use the film for inspiration.

Stand By Me (1985/ 1986)
Brilliant cast and story line. The movie was adapted from the novel 'the body' by Stephen King one of our greatest story tellers of our time.
The film basically follows four boys (about 12 years old) as they discover the location of a missing boy presumed dead. they go on a journey to find the boy as they do, they learn how hard life can be and how important friendship is. There are alot of hidden meanings in it.
There's also some comedy in the movie to make you laugh, but I love it, because there are lots of stuff that i can relate to in my own life to that movie.

Its a Wonderful Life.
Because it is a film showing good, old-fashioned sentiment.
Wouldn't we all like the chance to be like George & see what life would be like for others if we had never existed - Scary,eh?
A really god feel-good movie.
The Wizard of Oz- beacuse films of that era all had a moral to them. Good always triumphed over evil. Great escapism.
