They have rights just like everyone else, as they should. No group of people should be allowed special considerations when it comes to American rights and privileges, but the gay minority lobby wants just that; special considerations...

This is grossly appalling when you consider that a number of sincere and workable compromises on some troubling issues have been offered by the overwhelmingly straight majority, only to be rejected by a short-sighted gay minority lobby...

So, rights for gays 'specifically',...NO!

Yep I agree with you. But I think that gay people should be a bit less into sex all the time and one night stands, and stop acting like queers and scare people away by hitting on them all the time.
And you know what? I am gay. And out out of the closet, living happily with my bf, but I find it scarier to go to a gay bar/club than a straight guy does, because when I see some disgusting people that represent my sexuality in this way, I feel embarassed and also scared in that enviroment.

People can say what they want about how a person is gay, but there is one fundamental thing that everyone is: Human. No matter what your sexuality is, you're still human, and have the right to everything that comes with being a human. Everyone has the right to be happy, including gay people.

I think if a man loves another man, go for it! They have as much right as a man who loves a woman! When I was in my twenties, and before I was married, I even considered having a baby for a gay man and his partner. We talked about it all the time, the four of us would live together and the decor would be fabulous! Of course, I met the ultimate Alpha male, got married, and had two kids of our own. Now I have a decor of Lego's, video games and doll houses!

Hell yes they should be allowed! Having equal rights only protects them. Protects them from hate crimes, protects them from losing everything when their relationships dissolve, protects them from illness by providing spousal insurance rights, and soooo much more!
If they DON'T get equal rights, the country effectively saying that they are sub-citizens....and, if that's the case, why should they be held accountable for crimes that THEY may commit, or why should they have to pay taxes? Seems that Mr. Bush wants to have his cake and eat it too.
In the year 2006, we like to think we are a more progressive and accepting society, but we have issue with this? Politicians want peace and tolerance and freedom for everyone...but the homosexuals? Wow....gosh....maybe we haven't progressed as far was we think.

What do you mean by gay right? I agree people should be free to do what they want/ to think what they want. Being Gay bothers no one´s rights, and that is the only reason some one can be prohibited to be free. This means I agree totally that gays, like heterosexual have the right to marry. (and by marriage i mean the legal contract and not the religious thing).
I feel ashamed when someone discusses things like this, it denotes total ignorance and intolerance...(I mean Bush and other guys that are bringing out the theme "gay rights").. AUWFUL

What exactly are you talking about? What rights? If they are gay and live in the USA then yes they should be afforded the same rights as everyone else. They haven't broken any laws to have any rights taken away.

I mean a child molester has the right to live in the same neighborhood as children and he/she has broken the law.

Listen honey, there shouldn't even be such a thing as "gay rights". Last time I checked, gays were humans, thus we are ALL subject to the same rules and rights. To afford certain groups special status is to elevate them to a level higher than others, thus giving them "special" rights.

I thnk gay people should have same equal right as anyone. Most of the celebrities are homosexual people dont know because they are famous. I don thnk being gay has anything to do with ur abilities and inabibilities. Descriminating against it is just stupidity...

Yes, the are just you and me - the fact that they have different sexual preferences does not make them criminals!

They have the same emotions, the same wants and needs and are governed by the same laws of the country. So, when it comes to marriage (which is a man-mad tradition anyway), which will help them securing a decent life, should they become separated or should one partner die, why do we deny them that?

Who are we to judge? I am not religious, but didn't Jesus say 'one can only throw stones if....?'
