I'm 21 and live in Levittown, PA and my bf and I want to get married but can't afford an expensive wedding. My mother suggested getting married in a court. How much does it cost? If you could give me any information it will help. Please answer honestly. Thanx!

my cousin got married to her boyfriend in court and I attended it. It didn't cost much and it was wayyyyy cheaper then a marriage in Church. Trust me if you wanna save money or have money issues then get married in court because it's worth it. Because your married lol =)......and it's a good way for your money situation...believe it's not a lot of money.

Depends on the city. Just call your local courthouse and ask them how much it would be.
Just keep in mind that it also means you won't be able to have many guests attend either. Usually only 2 people.

I was married by a judge in the court in Ohio and it cost us $35 for the actual ceremony. The license was $15 and we had to wait a week for that before actually getting married.

Good Luck!

You will have to go to city hall. You have to by the marriage license then wait at least 24 hours before you get married. I think that license is about 50-100 dollars. Then you go to the city hall again at least 24 hours later and wait to get married. I believe that cost no more than 100 dollars as well. You also get a picture of the ceremony!

It depends on the state. My husband and I got married in Florida and we paid $75 for the marriage license and $25 to get officiated. $100 is a GREAT price to people able to marry your love. You should call your courthouse and ask them.
