I'm creating a mural using coloured broken glass. I need glue that is [a] fast drying (within an hour); [b] good quality (long lasting); and [c] available in a bulk pack (500mL - 1L would be ideal). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Forget those previous answers!. Sorry guys. The hotglue will delam very easily, peeling off the glass way too easy. Weldbond has the same problem. Use E6000 available at most hardware stores and Walmarts. I've built aquariums with the stuff up to 60 gallons!! and it is very tough. It's usually less than $3 for a 3.5 oz tube. It sets in an hour and for major jobs (holding lots of weight) you would have to wait longer, up to 12 hours for a large bond of several square inches. But it isn't messy like mixing the two part epoxy. It dries crystal clear.
Another is F-26, a construction adhesive. It sticks to anything and creates a very strong bond in 10 to 20 minutes. It isn't clear though. It comes in squeeze tubes and cartridges 10oz and 30 oz for really big jobs you need a caulking gun for the cartridges. But it is inexpensive. The biggest cartridge is under $5 and can glue up literally tons of material.

No, it really isn't a good idea – for any number of reasons. As an artist, I would think the variations in brush strokes, colors, and textures created by the varying surface of the glue (Vs the linen) would be quite bothersome. Also, you run the risk of the glue loosing its hold on the wood over time, and sections of the painting 'popping' off.

I use the E6000 on my glass and mirror mobiles, and for glass bead art. You only need to apply a thin layer Sparingly!!) it takes a little longer to dry, and make sure you have ventilation...strong fumes!. I have been using that glue for many years, and it has never failed me.
Hot glue guns do not work well for glass, glass isn't porous so the glue will not hold long.
I'm curious as to what your mural will look like!!

How about a hot glue gun, I ve used it on alot of projects where I was unsure of what other glue would stick. I purchased a small glue gun for about 10 bucks, and the sticks of glue are very cheap if you need to use alot.

I teach mosaics with glass, and find that weldbond is pretty good.The only time I have trouble with it is if you mix latex with your grout and the only time you use latex is when its going outside. Otherwise there are a lot of mosaic glues on the market.
