Something with Internet crime could be interesting. Maybe something with a group that is into conning rich people. It starts out on the net then moves to a face to face thing. They are based in an exotic country and con people all over the world.

There is a group at Interpol that has been after them fro years, now with some young computer geek they have the edge and they turn the con on the con men.

Stay away from the trite and the mundane. I think it's cool to start with the trial or something later in the story, and use the trial as a mechanism for bringing out what actually happened.

a guy goes into a antique shop and wants to buy a artifact from this old lady. she goes in the back to get the item, after several minutes of waiting the man goes into the back of the shop and finds the woman brutally murdered. he is now the number one suscpect in the murder. this is actually from a script i have wriiten and copyrighted but you are more than welcome to use it for your story, i don't plan on doing anything with the screenplay. if you need more info. i can best be reached at ccagle@gannett.com

That's not how it work, Spillaine. You gotta get inspired. Maybe go down to the courthouse and sit in on some trials....or talk to some cops about their experiences.

oh, how 'bout a govener from arkansas and have him run and win the presidency and lie to everyone and steal money from taxpayers who are the ones who earn it and have him get impeached / lie to the nation / have sex with a girl no older than his own daughter and let acts of teerorism against his country go unanswered. naw, forget it. it'd never sell. too unbelievable.
