I think giving special treatment is so useless. I don't see the point. people shouldn't be hurt, affended or awarded for anything that happened to their ancestors.

I completely agree with you. I am Christian but I am 1/2 Jewish by heritage. (Many people have a hard time understanding that is more than a religion). I think that at first (using blacks as an example) the world wanted to put everyone on the same playing field but now if you go for a job and you're white and going against a black person, chances are better for the black person because of affirmative action. You get more college scholarships for being of color. I am by no means racist but what happened to the rights of other people?
I didn't enslave anyone nor did my ancestors (I've done my research on it) but yet black people tell me I'm trash because my people put their people into slavery. The leaders of their tribes sold them into it and they forgave them!
I always her Jew jokes and I will tell people I'm offended and to please stop they say it doesn't matter because "my people killed each other" because my mother's side of the family were German Jews, which people also tell me is an oxymoron.
The annoying thing is if you speak out like I have and you have, people tell you that your racist!

Of course it's irritating to give people special treatment b/c they're different. I hear of bad things that have happened to Jews, Blacks, American Indians, & so forth, but we've also forgotten about the Cajuns who were beaten in school for speaking their native language of Cajun French. They were also mistreated & thought of as ignorant low class people b/c of their culture which is unique. We're also the butt of many jokes. As a result our generation has lost a lot of the language (which is beautiful, I might add) but I don't think we deserve special treatment. I do wish we could perserve our precious heritage which is being lost. I wish I could speak the language that was my grandparents native language, instead I only have a limited vocabulary of Cajun French. But no one can deny we have the best food anywhere on the planet, if you haven't tried it you're sure missing out.

Absolutely, Yes
Every one that is not a Jew is not one of gods chosen people according to the bible. So we're all been given the short end of the stick by God him self but I don't believe we should be given any special treatment. I'm mostly Irish and my ancestors were treated horribly by the Brits and treated as second class citizens in the beginnings of this country. The American Indians were treated horribly by Us. The blacks were imported over here for slavery. The Aztecs were conquered, killed, raped by the Spaniards. etc etc........... Almost every race has a sob story. BOO HOOO!! everyone should just get over it. I agree completely

Of course.
Want to hear something funny? During the Clinton administration Tipper Gore used to go running along one of the major roads in Washington DC (near Reagan Int'l Airport). When she was running the road had to be completely shut down and she had to have an armed escort to watch over her for "security reasons." She demanded this special treatment not because she was of a different race but because she perceived she was better off and more important than other people.

Yeah, it does irritate me totally. It's stupid for someone that is born in these days to still be mad over something that happened when they weren't born. I could understand if u lived through that incident but our generation didn't so people should stop thinking that they derserve to be treated a certain way because their a certain race. We should all be treated equally because it's kind of stupid to me that we have a black history month but we're trying to stop racism. That's feeding it! It teaches some black people to be racist and hate the whites because they think their better becasue their black and because their ancestors went through being a slave. It's sooo dumb and they get mad if a white person suggests that their should be a white history month. That's stupid. If they wanna get mad then their should be no color history month. Because it's making racism continue on.

I am not responsible for what my ancestors did nor am I going to apologize. Yes, there are some dark periods in the history if our country, but it is time to build a bridge and get over it. It is the individual's responsibility to take ownership of their own live and make something. If you want me to be your friend and help you, fine. But don't blame me, don't ask me for reparations and don't ask me for special treatment.

I get it, and agree with you!!! I think absolutely treating one person or group differently because they are Jewish, African American...whatever you are .......doesn't make you more special or more important than anyone else ...ever!! When you do treat someone or people because they are different...there is always going to be people or someone who doesn't get benefited from that, and that sparks hate or anger in some people!!
Everyone should just be treated equal and with fairness!!!
