It is not the job of the government to fight HIV. It is not the job of the government to be involved in healthcare in any way, other than providing it for those few citizens who TRULY need help.

Government is the worst entity to make change....

Government funded programs have been trying to end other viral diseases plus HIV/AIDS for over a century, with little to show for the trillions thrown into the money pit.

There is already a cure for AIDS outside the current generation with it....Quit having sex or trading needles with infected people....

Pretty simple....With a 0% transmittal rate the pandemic itself will go into remission. At least until some idiot finds another attractive monkey.

But people can't do that...special interests groups, charities, UN groups, and San Franciscan voters would lose their money and power.

Ask one of the PC people above...how much money or time should the government spend with this largely self inflicted problem. 10% of their budget, 20%, 30%. All of it.

There are more pressing diseases that kill far more people than AIDS. However, AIDS has political connections and already gets a disproportionate share of money, resources and media coverage already.

What would you have the government do?

The problem with the spread of HIV is people refuse to listen. We know how it's transmitted and what can be done to stop the transmission. But if PEOPLE choose to ignore what is known that's not the fault of the government.

and Jessie--The government didn't invent HIV.

The Goverment created HIV why would they want to cure it? They are getting so much money through the medical industry, not to forget the donations for charities.

They should. Instead of worrying about gay marriage and immigration, why don't we fix problems first instead of trying to create new ones to distract America?
