Ditch this special relationship claptrap, theres no nead for us ordinaries to be influenced by the political machinations of self-serving power-hungry nincompoops (sorry I just love using that word...). I'm British and I have nothing but love for my septic bretheren. They gave us Jazz, Elvis, Hendrix, WWII etc.
Seriously though, the real Americans I know are wonderful people, if a bit keen on everything and I really hope that someday they'll realise what a dreadful mistake they made in declaring independence from us.
I love America too, but before I trade in Blighty for the New World, they've got to get rid of the death penalty, TV evalgelism, rubbish cars (and drive on the left), "We're No.1!", McDonalds and most importantly that pillock in the White House.

I personally don't hate Americans, However I do have differences in opinion on what America believes to be a good foreign policy and what Britain believes to be a good foreign policy. I also believe our Government that being the British Government has toed the line on American foreign policy for long enough. Mistakes have been made on both sides of the pond especially with Iraq and now with Iran Nuclear crisis looming too. I believe America's foreign policy again will ultimately show a further widening and difference of opinion which in my opinion will only widen the gap between us. I do believe however that this gap will again be bridged sooner rather than later because doesn't America have a General election again this Year. Based on the polls im hearing he's a goner anyway.

I'm British and I think Americans are great.
I don't know anyone here who hates America, hell , half the tourists in Florida's theme parks are Brits, seems as if.
We've fought wars as allies in the past, the present and likely in the future.
Brits watch the same TV programs you guys make, and we laugh at the same jokes.
We share a language and a common sense of decency.
Don't let anyone tell you that we loathe you, it's just not true.

BRITAIN AND AMERICA, Have been through 2 world wars together and our friendship for each other is cemented in history. It would take a lot more than George bush to ruin that friendship.my personal opinion is that the jewish people have far too much power and influence in government and the media and they don't whant a settlement with the ARAB people THEY THINK THAT THEY ARE THE CHOSEN PEOPLE. it's inbred in their way of thinking PALESTINE belongs to the PALESTINIANSand until the jewish people accept that fact and start to negotiate an unselfish settlement this conflict will go on.BUT IT SEEMS THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL STILL BE THERE LONG LONG AFTER GEO BUSH HAS GONE. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

We all know that every-one makes a mistake and that is how the election of Bush could have been viewed. But when he was re-elected that is when other people in the world started to question how they viewed America. I have several American friends and love them all to bits but America as a whole has diministed in the worlds eyes when Bush was re-elected.

Hate is probably too strong a word, I have long viewed American (and British!) foreign policy with suspicion. George W. has not helped the American cause by appearing to be a bungling incompetent. (nobody buys that act surely!)
Americans should choose their next President more carefully!

Being British, I can say that I am not aware that Bush has changed anyone's opinion of America. I do not know of anyone who has changed any holiday plans, for example. If you liked America BB (before Bush) then you like America now. If you were anti-America BB then you are still anti-American. Your view of any country should not change because of the leader. I am anti-Blair but it does not make me hate Britain!
And Britain does not hate all things American. Their programmes are all watched on TV. We still eat beefburgers. Just remember, you can hate politicians but still like the people. And people are what make countries!

yup, hes turned the whole world against us. from sept 11 to august 02 we were the chant for world cohesion. now people are sick of us. dangerous for us to go anywhere. there was a question earlier that asked what people thought of the usa, 31 answers & none of them were positive. theres a reason for that. i see on here that we are nice but that people hate our govt. are we americans or what? why do we endure corrupt admins term after term. is this really what the secession from england was for? more of the same.

I think the only people who continue to support George W. Bush at this time are his immediate family and those who have directly benefitted financially from his seemingly warped policies and disconnect from reality.
