Bill Russell has 13 Championships,but he got that with a very deep and talented Team against soft white boys who can only dribble the ball 3 times. Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.5 points per game before ,yes 50.4 on the year he scored 100, but again that was against skinny players 10 inches shorter than he is. Michael Jordan was with a great coach and not just a Pippen,there was also Rodman,Kukoc,Harper and Kerr. But still Jordan is on the top of the list. simply because he got his 6 Championships against really talented teams,and when the NBA was at its best in terms of talents. Isiah, Drexler, Barkley, Olajuwon, magic, Bird,Ewing,etc.. But there was one guy though who managed to get attention even with those big name stars mentioned..KOBE..and its been ten years and hes still as famous and damn better player now! Ive seen the likes of wade,james,melo-they will just be like another Allan Houston ,Jim Jackson and John Starks..They wont go the distance..
In short,Jordan is the best player in the NBA..
But Kobe is on the way to be one step higher than MJs throne.

who ever said that kobe let a sub .400 team is retarted
the lakers went 45-37 in the reg season
also, they have one of the best coaches in the NBA.
but regardless, bryant is still the best player in NBA due to the versitile play. he has jump shot, cant drive at will, best finisher, and can even play defense.

Reasons:
Best Scorer
Top 3 defender
Comes through in the clutch
Shoots freethrows well
Shoots fg% well
Led a sub .400 team to playoffs
I think those are good criterias when trying to figure out who is the best player.
Lebron,Wade,Dirk,Duncan has veteren players around them, so it is easier to play with them. Kobe has young unproven players that he has go battle with everygame. That makes a big difference.
