.......and you are right,too!
Excessive jostling and abrupt movements while riding pillion on a motorcycle, horseback or having none-too-gentle sexual intercourse in the 1st trimester ofpregnancy can all lead to miscarraige.
You must be very careful from week 1 till week13.After this, the baby is fully formed and only continues growing in size...

A motorcycle is no more dangerous than any other form of transport, but you may be more vulnerable. You need to consider how safe a motorcyclist your boyfriend is. There is risk in everything and you may decide not to cross roads as there is a real risk of being run over. You are at risk if you have a crash in a car;do you avoid cars? You could choke on a sandwhich; eat nothing but babyfood? The list is endless but you need to follow your gut feelings. Hundreds of pregnant women ride motorcycles as riders or pillions and are comletely safe. The choice is yours but don't get carried away by motorcyclephobia.

I think you should go with your instincts - it's clear you don't want to ride pillion. When you are pregnant you feel differently about things, and I think it's important for him to respect your feelings.
Being 5 weeks pregnant is a vulnerable time. You may be starting to feel sick, and riding pillion won't help that at all. You are also more exposed to exhaust fumes, which isn't ideal when you have an unborn child to protect.
Your bf needs to think about your feelings and needs while you are pregnant, which will be good practice for when you have the baby. Babies don't ride pillion!

Riding on a motorcycle is always dangerous. (I'm not against it, just being honest.) It is up to you to decide how your pregnancy will affect your life. I don't think it will make riding with your boyfriend any more dangerous, but I would still recommend against it. You need to give your unborn child the best care possible. You might fall off the bike and hardly be hurt, but it could kill your child. I would advise you to ask your doctor.

It's probably not any more dangerous than riding in a car. Just because you're 5 weeks pregnant, what difference would that make to the baby? It's still the size of a peanut!

I think it would be advisable to tell you boyfriend that though you might not have the lump getting onto bike as a pillion passenger is not what you want to do.
No matter how good a rider he is do not put yourself and your baby at risk it is not worth it.
Good luck with everything.

I seem to recall one lady riding pillion on a donkey when she was rather more than 5 weeks gone. She gave birth but we shall never know if it was really that donkey ride that affected the whole course of history.
Be careful ... there's more than one of you now!

Motorcycles are just plain dangerous. Even if you are completely in control of the machine, you are surrounded by extremely heavy metal objects moving at relative speeds of up to 220 mph.
And all the protection you can get is a helmet and some leathers!

It is important you remember that the first trimester of any pregnancy has the highest risk of miscarraige. I suggest getting a cab, it's a safer bet than the back of a motorbike!
