It depends which side of the fence you are on and whether it is sunny or cloudy. Also, has the grass been mowed recently? Is it bluegrass or crabgrass or some other kind? Make sure you are not wearing sunglasses when you try to see if the grass is greener because it will make it hard to tell. I know that seems like something everyone should know but a friend of mine once was looking at the world with rose colored glasses and I'll be darn if he could tell which side of the fence the grass was greener on.

It is an expression that you want to have what your neighbor has, for example ,your neighbors husband/wife is really hot and you would like to have sex with them.Then the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence so to speak.

we always think it does and sumtimes it can but majority of the time its just the distance that makes it look better
