The first one? The earliest one I can remember was "The Beaches of Cheyenne" by Garth Brooks, oh my goodness, I cry just thinking about that song, I don't even have to hear it! Oooh, that Tim McGraw song you mentioned is heart wrenching too.

The first country song I ever remember listening to and knowing what it was about,,(I was young) was Don't Take The Girl by Tim McGraw.. and i cried almost every time I heard it for a while.

I would have to say"Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning?" by Alan Jackson. I first heard it on the CMA Awards just weeks after 9/11. I've heard it many times since then and it still gets me choked up.
