Okay so I would like England to win but wish the coverage was strictly limited. Why do all conversations seem to revolve about football?

Is England the worst at this or are other countries worse? How do you survive the next few weeks?!

Omg, me, me, me! I work in my school's Student Center, and these World Cup fans show a dozen times a day asking us to change the TV channels to ESPN 2, and if we're going to be showing their team's game, and they snap at me to hurry up so they don't miss the first 5 minutes (like anything happens)...it's everywhere and I only live in the US (I'm sure it's *far* worse in other countries!)

Hearty commiserations! And it hasn't even started yet you poor thing!

I think the media hype it up, but you're stuck with it for the next month I'm afaid. And it's only every 4 years...

Why not try just enoying the sight of 22 young, fit men in shorts! It works for me every time.

And just think of this, when the games are on (especially England games) the shops will be empty!

How many times was Wayne Rooney the leading item of news?
Fortunately I'm off on holiday for the next week so at least I'll get away from some of it.

South Africa is much worse! My county failed to score a single goal in three qualifying matches for the world cup.

Can you get worse than that?

They were boood when they got off the plane returning from the games.

i have really surprised myself, cos i have somehow picked up football fever, despite fighting it for years. i do agree that england is very obsessed with the football, but you gotta agree, it's nice to have something positive in the papers and on the news about the world, than who has been murdered lately.

Keep yourself busy with other works and avoid football..then try to catch up in the last few days as it becomes more interesting and the toddlers are out...

If you are sick of the World Cup, then come to America. No one other than Yahoo! is paying any attention to it at all.

I feel for you. It hasn't even started. I'd leave the country if I were you; you could well be driven insane by the coverage

Its not even started yet - if you're sick of it - turn over the channel

England are definitely not the worrst team - loads of teams didnt even qualify - its just that expectations are high...and rightly so
