what would you do if your neighbor made a false police report about you hitting their car and it caused you over $600.00 to fix all of the problems they caused you ?

Didn't you have an allibi or a witness to prove it wasn't you? Even if it was someone else driving your car, you're not personally liable.
Can you move house? Are they likely to do it again?
If you are really pissed off - First I'd go to the police & get an intervention order so that they can't approach you (so they can't cause you trouble in the future) then I'd send them an invoice, and if they don't pay it, I'd take it to the small claims tribunal. (it's free)
But really, I probably couldn't be bothered doing all that. I'd find out what was the reason they made the false report in the first place and try to work out the issue. It's only $600 and they must have been upset about something to go to that much trouble. You have to live next to them and you don't want to go through this again.
If you can't move house and if they are really just psychotic, and you haven't done anything wrong, I'd get the intervention order, and carry a camera around (on your mobile phone perhaps) to record any incidents so you can prove your innocence in the future.
I know what it's like to have psycho neighbours, after 12 months of hell & lots of money fighting a losing cause, we sold up & moved house.

If you can prove that they made a false police report you have the option of taking them to small claims court. Be advised, however, that the burden of proof is on YOU to prove they accused you falsely.

Can you prove it was false? If it was false, then you should have contested it. If you can't work out a settlement with the neighbor, you might be better off moving.

if i did it i would pay. but sinse i'm not made of money if i didn't do it i'd tell the police and if they thought i did when i didn't i wouldn't give them a dime.
