Of all the major footballing nations, only England drives on the left.
Sweden reached the World Cup final in 1958 when they used to drive on the left. Since they changed to driving on the right, they have not done so well.

It has to do with knights riding on horseback and they had to have their right hand free to swing the sword or use a lance. That's why they ride on the left and leave right hand free for fighting. :)
