Write a poem and buy a nice looking bottle with a cork and place the poem inside of the bottle and seal it. Tell her that what is inside is the love that you have for her......and if she should ever feel lonely while you are away then she can open it and read it...Make sure the poem is from the heart.....and give this to her while you take her out for dinner......

As long as it's not an "important b-day" ... meaning 30, 40...flowers, clean house, head to toe car cleaning, massage&candles&good sex, finishing that project she has wanted done forever, day without the kids, breakfast in bed, a picnic that You have totallly planned,the weekly laundry washed&folded, make her queen for the day believe me she knows the financial situation!

Take the day off and pamper her shamelessly.. cook and do all her chores. Let her soak and relax with a glass of wine in a nice hot candlelit bubble bath while you wait on. You never know.. you might get your own special 'thank you' at bedtime.

start off with making her a b-day breakfast with one flower (roses work best). then hide the other ones around the house, in the car or even at work( this one will earn you brownie points coz a girl just loves to show of how romantic her bloke is). you can always ask one of her work mates to put one in her place of work. and put a little i love you note with them all (IE; you are even more beautiful to day than you were when we met.and other things like that) it will be a treat for her all day. And at the end of her day get a box of chocs and rent her favourite D.V.D and tell her to sit back and relax for the rest of the night.
Trust me she will love it and will love bragging to all her mates about how romantic and caring you are
