absolutely... As babies do not breathe right after their birth. The environment in the water is the same as in the mothers womb. No air. so it would be find. They won't drown...

yep its called water birth, water soothes the muscles and makes you more relaxed, the baby breathes from the umblicial cord so when the head first comes out and the rest of the body is still to come the baby is able to contiune breathing, but you should never have a water birth or any kind of birth for that matter with out either a midwife or a doc present. here is a site about water births have a look if you want

yes, it is perfectly safe, since the baby is basically living in water, the water will not hurt the baby, and it will be alot less messy. the baby will not start breathing on its own until it comes up out of the water, so it will not breathe in any water. alot of hospitals and clinics give water births and many doctors and nurses prefer them.

Yes as long as someone trained to help with a water birth is there. I am thinking about doing that too.

Safe for the baby? Very. Safe for you? Pretty safe, but higher rates of infection in your body after the birth.

Yes. Look at the site www.waterbirth.net I have the video "Born in Water: A Sacred Journey" which has seven waterbirths on it. Very cool.

lots of women give birth in water. as long as u have a trained midwife around 2 advise, then I'm sure it will all go swimmingly!! lol :)

yes. someone who is trained would be there with you. It is les stressful on you and the baby as well.
