Do what you are told. Then the decision is someone else's responsibility. Never ever think for yourself. Thinking is best left to those with brains. Have fun. Fun does not require either decisions or brains. Be a good Gamma. Alphas have to work too hard, and Betas get no respect.

One method to decide: If you write the different possibilities you have for solution on different pieces of papers. Curl them, put them i a hat and pick one randomly; your gut feeling will tell you if the one you picked was the one you wanted or not. If it wasn't - pick another one.
