i just checked out a local college for my daughter and they say they usually have a list of jobs on a board from places close by(check that out.)
if first job: need to set sites a little lower to start: start with fast food or any restaurant they are more flexible with hours
or wal mart.
if you expect to be paid 7 -9$/hour then you need to start a little lower for part time work,
the jobs that start with 7 - 9$/hour are factories that are not that flexible with hours.

The only suggestion I have for you is to do work-study. I don't think you'll find a high paying part time job out there, not unless you take up stripping.

Serving or bar tending. Depending on your state it can really be good money. Up here in Minnesota servers get $6.15/hr plus tips. And while its the law that you do so, I have heard of servers who don't claim their tips as income-thus less money paid in taxes.

Resident Assistants usually recieve reduced/free housing and/or mealplan, or scholarship money. Usually you work a desk a couple hours a week for minimum wage.

Probably serving at a bar, or telemarketing if you can stand it.
