It all depends on what year Escort you have. Some of the newer Escorts are more difficult as you need to remove the climate controls and rear defroster to integrate them into the installation kit. Be prepared to spend around $50+ for this installation kit. If it is an older model Escort, the installation is pretty easy as long as you use a wiring harness.

You need a set of ford removal keys to remove the ford set then depending on whether the set is a single or double din fit you will need a relevant loom plug and fascia piece,then its all just plug in

The kit cost 50$ And then you need a special tool to remove the old one. You can buy it or you can do what i did and go to the dealership and if there cool they will do it for no cost.

fitting it in is not the hard part, finding the wires you need to connect to is the problem. all car makers assume that you will buy the sound system with the car, and if not, it is no small chore

they usually have the info you need regarding your vehicle..especially speaker locations--dashboard opening dimensions (especially depth) you dont wanna get a radio that is too deep and ends up sticking halfway out of the dash..
