divx dvds are a now defunct competitor to the dvd. The went away just like beta did. You can download divx players online for free though.

you can download a divx player for your computer i use one to watch Dr. Who episodes from the internet. I'd get a universal or multireigon or universal dvd player becasue then you can play any reigons dvd's and get them from other countires. Divx is just a specific type of dvd coding.

music = mp3 , video = divx.. basically reduces the size of the dvd file drastically so tht it is easily 'transported' on the net..
