As I do not know what age you are and the age of the guy this answer is general. First thing is age is not normally that important (Depends on the age diffrence BUT is mainly not relevant) I have went out with people older, it is more important that you both like each other and have things in common, so just ask him if he would like to go for dinner, a drink the cinema or something.

The same way you ask an older guy, or a guy thats the same age as you out. In school it seems to be taboo to date someone younger when your a girl, but really its quite normal. Plus, guys actually like older girls. I'm sure if you just ask him out it'll be fine.
