The problem is your ignition coil. When it heats up it is shorting out causing the rough idle. When the motor is running rough it is not building the proper oil pressure, That's why the light is coming on. This is a common problem and is a cheap fix. Hope I have been helpful.

You say nothing as to what kind of motorcycle your having problems with.
The oil light coming on when it stalls most likely has nothing to do with what is making it stall.
Most likely, when you turn the key to the ON position, before pushing the start button, the oil light is probably on. This is just to confirm that the bulb is not burned out. Once the engine starts, it goes out. If the engine quits running (for any reason) the light will come back on.
You may need to check the carb. It may have some dirt in it. Even a hardly visible piece can be a problem.
Also, make sure the battery isn't low on fluid.

What is the year, make, engine size and model # of your bike. I need that info to help determine what could be wrong. Also the mileage on your bike. There are 2&4 stroke engines. Motorcycles can have 1,2,3,4,6 cylinders. Some have points and some have electronic ignition.
As for the oil light coming on when the motor stops. All bikes do this. If there is no oil flowing past the oil sensor, the light will come on. When you first turn on the key, the oil light comes on.

a motorcycle mechanic seems a likely source for a good answer.
having said that, it sounds like you have some kind of contamination in the oiling system- check the color and odor of the oil (water will turn it a cream color, gasoline in it will make it smell of fuel, etc.), or possibly a heat related electrical problem- if it starts and runs normally but has a sudden onset of the problem at about the same length of run time, I'd bet on the electrical problem. first place to check is the starter (if electric start) or in the igniton system- especially if it's a newer bike with electronic ignition.

Evil spirits.
Yeah, that's the ticket.
When your engine gets warm, the evil spirits steal the energy and use it to light up that little light.
Call an exorcist.
Whatever you do, don't take it to a mechanic. He'll just tell you some foolish thing, like you overfilled the oil.

There could be too much oil in the engine. When it warms up the oil and engine gets moving, causing the crankshaft to foam the oil.

the pblm may be excess oil. it expands on heat and its expansion reduces power from piston.
please also check for the oil's colour, (should be clear and freeflowing).
the pblm is also experiened in worn out bad seal (oil seal)near the bearings, also due to bad oil-filter.
