Please don't be scarred to take meds. They are great these days.
Not like the old days when you walked around in a daze, these days they help the chemical imbalance that you are having. There are a lot of antidepressants on the market so keep trying until you find the one that suits you. There is also a lot of natural therapies which you can find at most health food shops, maybe give them a go first. My Daughter suffers from depression, every day she gets better and better, she now has a full time job and is very happy. She takes antidepressants still, but the happier she gets the less she has to take. She gets more and more confidence in herself every day. Be Happy don't let this rule your Life. Good Luck

Well, actually I think it's easier to lift it a bit first with meds, so that u can work on yourself thoroughly later. Once ur up and thinking better, u can get it out of ur system with holistic methods like meditation, talk therapy, EFT etc.
Other than these, it is good to exercise, and have sugary fluids to ease the symptoms.
Best of luck!

I would say time and space, focus on breathing and enjoying the world!! look around its all yours, for the taking! live it, this is not the practise its the real thing!
Sit in your local park in the sun and realise that!

If you are a smoker please quit smoking gradually. If you don't smoke of 2 or 3 days the nicotine will go out of the body completely.
Do meditate, this will really help.... (my experince)
If you are not a smoker then also meditate....
