not necessarily, the jury may decide to give you a lesser sentence. If the judge is happy with what the jury says then he or she may go with the lesser sentence. It depends on the type of judge you have.

Not necessarily. It depends on what the misdemeanor was for. I had a DUI a while back, and my sentence was nearly cut in half. It mostly depends on the judge and if you have one, a lawyer. Also, attitude when you approach the judge makes or breaks you. Be respectful and the epitome of inobtrusive. Also, don't count on there being a jury. Most all small claims court is jury-free and decided by a judge alone, and a misdemeanor is definately a small infraction. Good luck!
