What about the kids who are cutting their wrists. What about the kids throwing up in the toilet after eating because they want to look like Lynsay Lohan. What about people consumed with depression. What about the homeless kid sleeping next to the dumpster. Shouldn't our US government be helping these people out before aiding people that are here illegally?

It is very clear that alot of parents here are incompetent. The kids have no where to go.

It's not JUST the job of the parents - it takes a whole community to raise a child. We are all responsible for the children of our community and our country - our legal, US citizen children. The other countries are responsible for their children. Our children are our future. Even those people who choose not to have children and then resent having to pay school taxes, for instance, should realize that their neighbours' children are the ones who will be someday paying the taxes to support the infrastructure around you in your old age.

I get what your saying. The government needs to take care of the issues of citizens. We have our own homeless, jobless, people with no insurance. What makes the plight of the illegal any more important than the citizen who struggles? When kids have eating disorders or depression, I don't think that is the government's problem. Parents are the ones who need to be actively involved in their kids' lives. The government isn't going to, and shouldn't, raise your kids for you.

Your right, and it's really sad.I have kids and I couldn't imagine any of that happening to them.I am not a Bush fan, never will be.And I believe in trying to legalize illegal immigrants who deserve it.But it sickens me to think of all those innocent children in our nation that get overlooked every day.The thing is,this has been going on way longer than the immigration thing.Drug addicts get to keep their children and child molesters live next door.Ppl can abuse their child sexually, mentally, and physically and STILL keep their kids.Foster parents abuse the kids and noone believes them. Some kids would rather sleep on the streets than go home b/c theres no safe home to go to.Yes,thats terrible. And your right, our f***ed up government does nothing to help them!

:-) Wish I could disagree with your sentiment. The trouble comes in when one considers the public health threat that would come if there were no type of basic health services. The unavoidable reality is that they'll be here even without any assistance. Without some precautions, typhus, typhoid, T.B., etc would run rampant. Anything past the basics to avoid epidemic, I say, don't encourage them to come here for freebies.

That’s not a governmental issue, I think. It’s the job of the parents not to raise up a kid as school-shooter or political/religious extremist.
The government’s job is to run the country.

I agree with you!!! We need to worry about our own citizens before we start worrying about people from a WHOLE DIFFERENT country!!! I've said the same thing myself.Although the government can't STOP people from committing suicide, they should be able to,and REQUIRED to, help the poor, homeless.STARVING people that we have RIGHT HERE in the U.S. People who are LEGAL citizens!!! Whose grandparents, parents, etc, have actually worked and paid TAXES into the system!!! Our OWN people should be taken care of FIRST!! Instead of sending BILLIONS of dollars to OTHER countrys,we need to spend it on our citizens!!! Instead of spending BILLIONS of dollars on FOREIGNERS,we need to help OUR own people!!!!!!!!!

Arent they? Shouldnt they do all those things listed before earmarking millions of dollars to remove illegal immigrants from their jobs and send them home. Think about it.

I BELIEVE THE GOVT SHOULD AID IN PROVIDING A RESOURCE OR PROGRAMS FOR THESE CHILDREN, BUT ULTIMATELY IT IS A PARENTAL PROBLEM!!! QUIT DOGGING ME FOR WRITING IN CAPS. MAYBE SOME PEOPLE CAN'T COMPREHEND FINE PRINT AND DON'T READ ALL OF THE STATEMENTS I MAKE AND THEY JUST GO AND ASSUME I AM A RACIST.
