It's not dangerous if you go to a clinic with trained professionals working. Remember though, that the laser only kills actively growing hairs, which are about 20% of the hairs at any given time. So you'll need at least five treatments to kill all the hairs in any area. There are different types of lasers and you may have to shop around to find one that works for your skin and hair color, and it's ideal if the clinic will give you a written guarantee of results (so that you don't end up paying for twenty treatments if it ultimately takes that long). If you're thinking of doing a large area, I suggest asking the clinic about a numbing cream (like Emla) which can be applied to the area beforehand to numb the pain.

Just do your homework. Check certification. No one with proper credentials would ever be offended by your asking. If the person gets snooty, they ARE hiding something. Be sure you know the difference in all hair removal techniques. Some sound exactly the same but the results are quite different. If you are going to invest the money make sure you are going to end up with permanent results.
