Going to CHINA! 31 yr old white female--do chinese guys date white women??

Hi !!

I am going to China !! (Shanghai and Beijing)....yea!!

ok so many women tell me "dont expect to date; your love life will be on hold"

Can someone explain why? i find chinese men attractive in so many ways !! do they not date American women ?

please help ! thanks !!

Unless you are ugly and fat, some Chinese men will fantasize about you and maybe even try to date you.

However, Jackie Chan, you are not likely to find in your bed anytime soon.

Most Chinese guys in their thirties are already married or too busy working to put up with the hassles of a waigoren girlfriend.

Those who would be interested will probably be older men, older married men looking to cure their artic fever with a fling.

Sleazy dudes who hang around the expat hangouts will look at you as a "prize to be had". Watch out for the GBH in your drink.

And of course, you would be quite attractive a catch for any "Visa Gigolos" looking for that entry ticket back to your own country.

If you find chinese men attractive now, I'd suggest you wait until you get here and see them up close first...spitting, belching, horrible fashion sense, poor hygeine, smells,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

It happens. However, dating is difficult for foreign women in China. I met my husband here, but he's not Chinese.

Good luck. If you are open to dating Chinese men, I'm sure you'll meet someone who is open to dating a White woman. Most women who come here don't find the Chinese men attractive, and at the risk of sounding horrible, I don't either, but I live in the North and my idea of attractive Chinese man seems to come from the South. Also, I live in a very provincial city, so most of the men I run into aren't very sophisticated and it takes a level of sophistication to be open to foreigners on those terms.

You are going to two cities with about 20 million each. While its true in general most Chinese are not interested in dating foreigners that still eaves you with a few million to chose from in each city. There are tons of dating sites that you can register on to meet some great guys. Just use common sense and meet at public places at first. The Chinese are also big on introductions so let your coworkers know that you are interested in meeting people. Also Chinese have general stereotype of Western woman as being promiscuous so if this isn't you make it clear up front. Have fun its a very exciting country and the people are great.

being short will help definitely, shanghai and beijing are the 2 most westernized cities in china. people are people so if you're going to find someone to date, then you will. but yes, beware, chinese men don't treat women the way you think. i married a chinese woman, i'm american, and my wife says and i quote"I HATE CHINESE MEN" just be careful

There are some Chinese men, who are willing to date females outside of their race in china, but most are not willing to do so, its a taboo in some families. how is your Chinese/mandarin? there is usually a communication problem between the two parties, unless you can find someone that speaks English well enough for you to understand. don't be turned off, if there no callers in the begin, like all dating scenes, everybody has to get to know each other first. It is more of personal liking. Especially in China where Caucasian is not a common sight, so they will tend to be apprehensive about approaching one. Also height difference. Most Caucasian lady tend to be taller than the Chinese man, so this can be intimidating.

The other thing will be the language barrier. Majority of them may not speak english. He may feel uncomfortable being unable to converse with you, and pride may prevent him from trying.

If you have time, come to Singapore, majority of the Chinese here are english speaking already! And we have no qualms about dating a Caucasian lady! :)

My husband is chinese I am white we are the same height ( I might be a half inch taller) and Im not tiny like his sisters. He is the greatest man in the world and very sweet and kind- I would say that he is not average chinese he is more americanized, but that does not mean you wont be able to date there, just keep your eyes open.

Chances are you're not going to find anyone. Chinese men are very conservative. They may want to chat with you, but very few would actually think about date you, particularly you're white. They don't like caucasian's rough skin. And when you do find a guy who's 'interested' in you, be extremely careful. You'll be playing with fire and could get seriously hurt.

Common perception is that most white women have a lot sexual experiences. Most Chinese men who can speak English expect their future wive to be virgin. Also many English speaking Chinese men take dating seriously. They expect something out of dating, like marriage. It is opposite for white woman. For Chinese who is not serious about sex, most of them don't speak more than 20 English words. That is why many white female have better chance in dating black men than Chinese men. You have a pretty good chance if you are brunetee or dark haired...they definately don't go with blonde/blue eyes much. Well my year in Korea that's how it was anyway, maybe the Chinese are different?

It won't help if you are tall either, but if you are shorter, kind of reserved, and petite, they love that!
