yes. it is because their saliva has more enzymes than human saliva, which makes bacteria unable to survive.

not to mention. a human diet vs. a dogs diet, all the sugars and starches we take in make a nice breeding ground for bacterias (which is why brushing is so important). you dont see dogs consuming as much sugar as we do on a daily basis.

it may also be evolutionary, their saliva is made to be capable of cleaning and sanitizing their body, i'm sure if we had to lick our butts we would have evolved into having much more sanitary saliva.

Humans have much more bacteria in their mouths than dogs. Cats on the other hand have dirty mouths.

Logic says yes because of what humans eat compared to what dogs usually eat. Humans eat a wider variety of things.
By the way, dog feces IS gross to eat but, the reason behind it (no pun intended) is a mineral deficiency caused by most, inexpensive commercial dog foods.

There are over 500 species of bacteria in one human mouth. Not so much with dogs. It's not that our are anymore dirty than theirs... its justthat we have more bacteria.

This one time I wanted to test the theory out and let my dog lick an open wound on my leg and it turns out that it isn't true. I got an infection.

No, and yes,
IF YOU GET BITTEN BY A DOG, YOU MUST GET MEDICAL ATTENTION, DONT JUST CLEAN IT, I KNOW I WAS BITTEN BY A DOG IN FACE, AND WENT HOME, CLEANED IT ETC BUT IF YOU SAW MY FACE (chin) REAL BAD

DOGS CARRY MANY MANY GERMS, THAT ARE NOT HARMFUL TO THEMSELVES BUT IN A HUMANS BLOODSTREAM IS NOT GOOD
