I would not remove Windows Media Player because many web sites and media integrated programs may use WMP as the default media codec. This would certainly cause problems in the future if you intend on browsing websites or using programs which require WMP to decode the audio or video. Instead, download a program which you enjoy using and set it as the default player for all media types. WMP will be out of the way, but will be there if you need it. You would actually be very surprised to see how much WMP is used in daily browsing, and it can be quite bothersome when you run across something that you really want to watch or hear, but WMP is gone!
Have a great day!

Yes, u can do it this way. Please follow this path. Start>control panel > add remove programme> add remove windows components> uncheck the box of windows media player> next. Now the window will guide u further. It will certainly help u in solving ur problem.

Just set another one as your default player. Most of the players have the ability for you to set them as default.
You can't delete it from add/remove because it is a part of the windows program.

.You can't. It is tightly intergrated with Windows. But you can disable it by going to Add/Remove programs and then clicking Add/ Remove Windows Components.

he he he...why? so you only run iTunes? iTunes is a hassle unless you have an ipod, which in my opinion is the only reason to use it. WMP is also bothersome (graphics suck) but it has some better features (like it can automatically update when files are added to specific folders).
My suggestion: unless it is really a problem, keep it!
