The best diet for these birds is a mixture of quality grains. In the wild, they usually eat seeds, fruits and berries. Some species can eat snails. All these birds don't eat insects, meat and worms. Wild birds can eat bread, bits of food left by people and popped corn.

How long have you had it? Sometimes if a bird is stressed out, they'll lose feathers to a balding point. If you've moved recently or added new animals into the home that could be the cause of your problem. Also sometime they could just be lonely. Does it's cage have a mirror. Sometimes the easiest and cheepest companion can be a simple mirror. I'm not sure if this is of any help, but you might give it a try.

Your pigeon is molting at the moment. The molting season starts at the end of the breeding season when the weather gets hot. This is normal for the bird. However, you should give your pigeon some extra vitamins during this period as it is very stressful for him/her. Birds at this time need extra protein and energy Your local pet shop will probably be able to help you.

Some bird go through a molt when they get a certain age. They loose all their feathers, and grow new ones.

But keep feeding your pigion corn a wheat, and what ever else they recommend to pigions.
