Yes, fleas can come into the house through open doors and windows, other animals, on people, on plants...basically, if it's been outside it can have fleas on it.

The only time an inside only cat needs flea medicine is if they have fleas already. The best way to tell this is by running a comb through the cat's fur. If you get little bits of black dirt on the comb, then the cat probably has fleas. If this happens, then you will need to get flea medicine made for cats (cats have fleas specific to them, so it has to be treated differently)
But being an inside only cat is known to be the best method of keeping a cat flea-free.

I t comes down to a very simple equation...
Are there any fleas around you? The cat, rugs, on you, are they ever brought around you cat?
If you say yes to any of those or can think of a way that your cat could possibly get fleas then get the flea meds if not then you don't need it.
Regardless get a flea comb or brush and brush your cat regularly looking for fleas.
You could call a vet or pet store in your area and ask also

No! Indoor cats don't normally catch fleas because they have no contact with outdoors cats -- which are really the ones that easily carry them! Keep your indoor cats inside at all times!
If you suspect your cat has somehow contracted fleas, contact your vet and discuss your options.

YES! Fleas can come in on your shoes, through your door and windowsills, etc. They also still need Heartworm protection!

Only if they are around an animal that goes outside or they run outside. If you have a dog i suggest treating them... but if your outside animals are treated and your inside ones never leave the house.... dont worry about it.
