I want to spend less than $1000 for a 3 CCD mini-DV camera to shoot films. I know clean audio is crucial so I want to find a camera that has good jacks for mikes and headphones. Which camera is best?

wow its like ive met my clone. believe it or not, im planning to get a camera for the exact same situation. im getting a pv-gs400 in july to make films as well, and it pretty much has everything you could ask for. Its under $1000 or around (depends on what store you get it from, theyre hard to come by now so only available online), it has a headphone port and mic port. and its 3ccd as well. i really recommend getting this cause it has manual functions and a 4way hybrid zoom/focus/shutter/aperture ring, which most cameras dont offer. and for the mic, id recommend the rode videomic (youve probably heard of it before), its around $150 last time i checked.
you can go to www.camcorderinfo.com to read about the pv-gs400.
