No, I don't personally believe in these verses. I am asking the question because they sound like they were written in later for the doctrinal propaganda.

I guess none of you guys have ever heard about Higher Criticism in Biblical Literature. Prof. Bart D. Ehrman is one of the top authority in the New Testament.

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
*Why would someone reject a merciful god? It's too easy to accept His mercy. If you're not hip to salvation, choose eternal damnation.
Matthew 10:32 - 33 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.
*Don't be lukewarm. Either be a believer or step aside.
Matthew 10:36 A man's enemies will be the members of his own household.
*Everyone has that alcoholic uncle who may or may not have molested someone. (Okay, so that's putting my own spin on it- People who are close to you are not always right and can lead you down wrong paths.)
Matthew 10:38 And anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
*If you're not willing to accept the fact that you've sinned and ask for forgiveness, you don't get to party with Me in Heaven (It's a choice- make it & take the consequences).
Mar 16:12 - 18 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. *I don't think I copied & pasted everything. Anyway, this is what the really fun ones use to bring snakes into church to tempt the lord, their god. :P It basically means that when you're a believer, you have an advocate with the Father. You have the ability to change your world for the better. It doesn't mean you should test it out by going all Steve Irwin.

Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Jesus shed his blood for all who don't want to kill animals on altars anymore. Wasn't that a good thing?

Peter said, "I do not know the man!" (referring to Jesus) THREE times. Peter was not disowned. Why? After Christ's resurrection he was forgiven, by covering up those three times with the word LOVE.

Well, I think the majority of people who frequent the Internet these days would have no idea where to find a Bible, let alone find these verses in the Bible. So you may want to give 'em a link to look up the verses.
First, I believe in Jesus Christ. He is the Savior. The verses basically say that He should be the most important thing in my life. I'm not going to literally give up my friends and family. Nor am I going to handle snakes! I admit that my priorities aren't right. I really doubt that any Christian's priorities are COMPLETELY perfect.
Second, you forgot to mention John 6:50-65. Was Jesus speaking literally or figuratively in this passage?? I am sort of starting to think He was speaking literally.

John 3:31-36. I'm not sure what you want here. John the Baptist is speaking to his disciples about Christ. Even though John played an important role as the fourrunner of the Messiah, he is explaining that because Jesus came from heaven He is above all creation and those who are from the earth, like John, speak in an earthly way. Whoever recieves the testimony of Jesus, that is, whoever believes that Jesus came to die for our sins, will have eternal life. He uses the term here, sealed. Ephesians 1:13, Paul explains that when we recieve Jesus as Lord and Savior we are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemtion. (the return of Christ). If you don't believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior then, according to verse 36, the wrath of God remains on him. The wrath of God is eternal punishment in hell.

In Luke 14:26, that's declaring that in case you adore all and sundry or some more thing effective than Christ Jesus, you are able to not be His disciple. In 1John 3:15, in case you imagine a sin, that's an same as DOING the sin. Feeling bitterness antagonistic to someone who has performed some thing incorrect to you is an same as taking violence antagonistic to that man or woman. No, they don not contradict one yet another. Why not study the Bible to discover truth rather of looking for fault with it?

John3:31-36...is speaking of Jesus. 36 makes it plain that we are to believe in the Son. Real belief will cause us to live differently. Matthew10:32...tells us to proclaim Christ. 33...Not to be ashamed of Him. 36...Living for Jesus will bring division in a home if everyone doesn't love Him. Or maybe "they of his own household" could mean "they"(the battles of your own mind) are your greatest foes. 38...living life for Jesus and His purpose will be difficult at times and you will find that your flesh will rear up in rebellion daily. Then will be the time to crucify your flesh, Thus "taking up your cross daily" Mark16:12-18...After Jesus died and was entombed He arose three days later. He stayed on Earth for a little over a month. He gave US the command to preach the good news about Him. He gave us the authority to do the work He did.

I don't have time to look all of those things up. I want the points and I want them now with little effort. Don't make me work so hard.
Lets just go to Exodus 22:18 "You shall not permit a witch to live." That says it all. It's clear. It's direct. It's useful in an argument or when a woman doesn't do what you tell her to do. What more could you ask for in a religious text to guide your daily life. Those other verses are too difficult to understand.

The passage in John: is referring to John the Baptist and is statement of how those who had been following him should now follow Christ. Matthew: in it's full context speaks very clearly for itself, Christ is telling us that when our relationship with Christ and we keep as the first priority in our life, then their will be conflicts in our personal relationships on earth with mankind, but we are to stay loyal to Christ. In verse 38 where Christ says he is not worthy of me, this is in reference to the fact that we will be judged according to our loyalty, it does not negate our salvation. Mark: This is Christ in his resurrected body and he is telling them the powers they will have as missionaries and missionaries today will tell you that as they go into countries and they are unfamiliar with the language, culture, etc., that they are sometimes in positions that are very uncomfortable but as they rely on the Holy Spirit to guide them, they realize that all of a sudden the people are understanding them in their language a though they were speaking it, or they are being able to speak the language they never knew, and their have been many missionaries deliberately poisoned to see if this "God and Jesus" that was being talked of was true and when God did not allow them to die then whole tribal nations were converted. A lot of religions teach that miracles stopped with the apostles, the chosen 11 disciples, but no where do I find that Jesus stopped miracles, as there are many who enter situations today that were it not divine intervention, a miracle, then life would not be the same for them. You asked excellent questions and gave great resources with plenty of material to give an appropriate response. Thank you.

What do you mean you don't believe in these verses? That is just sad. Are you saying that you don't believe in Christ Jesus? If so, go find a Christian pastor and ask him/her about the verses. It will be well worth your time. As for me. I believe whole heartedly that Jesus died on that cross so many years ago for me and all others including you. That we may join God in heaven for eternal life with our creator.

"32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven." Matthew 10:32-33. When ask Jesus to save us, we become saved. When we refuse to acknowledge, we are not saved. To DENY Jesus, is to DENY God. But to CONFESS Jesus is to CONFESS God.
For Matthew 10:36, you need to expand that a little, so as not to get it out of context. "34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’[e] 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 10:33-39 is hyperbole, and does not literally mean to hate your family. Instead we are to love God so much, that it looks like we hate our family, because we put him first. Verse 36 can mean, that when we choose to serve God and our family does not, then they will despise us, or turn on us. Or, it could mean, that like a prophet, we will not be welcomed in our neighborhood, city, etc, because we follow God, and not man.
"12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
The Great Commission
14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[a] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:12-18. This is referring to when Christ rose from the grave. There are several instances in the Gospels where it mentions that Jesus went to others. Many times, God's people face persecution and are forced to face death. Vs. 18 is saying that God will be with us, even when we face these. There will be a supernatural time, (many says during the Pentecostal period) when the witnesses of God will not be hurt by man or beast. Instead, God will put a special protection around them.
I hope this helps
