Ok, once again, you found it in the fiction section, correct? Then it is not true. Fiction=non truths.
Dan Brown didn't do his homework, not even historically. (Definitely not Biblically.) Aquila wasn't there, Dan Brown wasn't there, and the painting? That was made about what ?? 1200- 1500 years later? Doubt if he knew who sat where, or what they looked like.
The council that was suppose to have voted on Jesus's divinity, did no business on that supposed " big day," and on and on and on....
Oh, by the way, why didn't Jesus take time out to say goodbye to his wife and son when He was on the cross? Took time out for other important people...(Would have had to be a son, to carry on the bloodline, and they always put the sons in the picture.)
Come on, something that big would have been recorded in the Bible. Jesus was the authority. The New Testament is largely about Him. If he had been married, it would have been accepted, would have been ok, and would have been written.

No, Dan Brown's Da Vinci code is so littered with errors they can't be counted. Jesus' affair with Mary Magdalene is one of those errors. The Gnostic's originated that fallacy to convince the public that a line of French Kings were related to Jesus Christ, and thus must be obeyed in what ever they said. That lie was originated simple to get the people to obey. If you think about it, people will be less apt to rebel against Jesus' "kids".

Jesus was not married to anyone. The Da Vinci Code is all in Dan Browns head. None of the so-called facts are true. Think about something. If Jesus had not died on the cross for the sins of the world we would all be headed for hell. The 12 Apostles all died terrible deaths because they would not denounce Jesus; some were crucified, some were beheaded. Would you let someone kill you for something you knew to be untrue?

first, i believe that all rumors have some kind of truth in it as its basis/ source. next, throughout history, many people obviously died for this; additionally, also many people tried to stop it or even ban it. well, it just adds up to the publicity that it must be true!

but this film coupled with the lost gospels especially that of judas iscariot do make a lot of sense, as opposed to the regular story that judas betrayed jesus. again, why all the secrets, omission and misleading? why do we have just 4 gospels? why all of these cloak and dagger? maybe there is a truth that really the truth.

if there is really a descendant of jesus, would you like to know?

i know that it is written as a fiction, but it is not like the matrix. it is written so nearly tied up with reality that it is almost true and believable.

in the end, we have our own beliefs and these holds us together in times of hardship, else it gets sacked and replaced.

i was raised catholic, know the bible inside and out, they kinda made us memorized it, somehow i am not anymore. there's a lot of questions like the more president bush believe that he is the arm of democracy and that of christianity, the more people die in iraq... is it really worth it?

going back... i think that it is time that we are more open minded about this. i believe that christians need more than the white house or the vatican church to survive into the future. i believe that after 9/11, we have a void in us that religion can no longer fill, and we need a new truth to keep us from falling apart.

Yes it's true that Jesus was married to the Magdalene, and this is something the church didn't want people to know. There was a cover up indeed. You know how the Catholics were criminals and burned people? Well do think such were capable of being dishonest? Of course. Christians hate the idea but that's their problem. The part about kids is speculation, but when you have a husband & wife, you often have a baby crying around there somewhere.

If it's true, why doesn't Mr. Brown go to the trouble of producing the bloodline?
This happens to be an interesting fictional account of what could have happened but didn't.
Don't lose any sleep over it.

It's Dan Brown's fictional twist on biblical accounts and historical facts. Makes for an interesting read.

TO THOSE BEING SO RUDE: All she did was ask a question. If you believed her question to be "stupid" then you should have bypassed it. Consider yourself reported as there is NO call for it.

no they are not true. a man that researched on the book found many false statments about jesus. he told me that if dan brown was his student for english he would give him an A+ but if dan brown was his student for history he would give him a F...many of the statements about jesus in that book are lies.
