gentle_balance,

The problem isn’t fear; it is pride.

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. James 4:6b

God bless.

Personally....I feel unworthy. I have bad habits that I can't seem to stop on my own and I don't have enough willpower, self esteem, gumption, self confidence, and all that other stuff to ask for help. I know my problem, I'm an alcoholic. I'm just afraid to succeed, or most likely...I'm afraid that I won't succeed so therefore I'm afraid to try. I tend to be a perfectionist, and if I can't quit completely, why bother trying? I guess down deep and truly from my heart.............I'm afraid I'll fail. I have the drinking thing down pat, so why quit and risk failure? This answer has been an eyeopener to me....I always thought I was afraid to succeed. Now I realize that I'm afraid I might fail if I do anything to try to succeed. WOW...

I believe in Jesus Christ & the Lord, I just don't feel worthy.

You cannot accept something that they have never heard about before- many ppl have a misconception of God so they don't know the truth or anything about him. So start spreading the truth -and many ppl will accept Gods grace

In the Holy Quran God said:-

5. The Table Spread

7.
And call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you, and His covenant, which He ratified with you, when ye said: "We hear and we obey": And fear Allah, for Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts.

8.
O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

9.
To those who believe and do deeds of righteousness hath Allah promised forgiveness and a great reward.

10.
Those who reject faith and deny our signs will be companions of Hell-fire.

11.
O ye who believe! Call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you when certain men formed the design to stretch out their hands against you, but ((Allah)) held back their hands from you: so fear Allah. And on Allah let believers put (all) their trust.

They aren't afraid to accept god's good grace. They are sick of being preached at by moralistic losers who think that only they have the true answers to life, when they only twist the teachings of the prophets and jesus to serve their own desires.

I'm not afraid of something that I don't know for sure it exists. There is no proof of it, and I'm one that doesn't believe anything till I have proof. The Bible is not valid proof, for that is just a book written long ago from men. Now you Christians, don't go contacting me to preach to me. cuz I don't want to hear it, to read it or anything.

Because the hardest thing to do is admit you are a sinner. Are pride likes to get in the way and prevent us from seeing who we truly are in God's eyes, and who he wants us to be.

People aren't "afraid" of deities, or whatever grace they offer.

People simply don't believe in them, or the particular deity in question. Your question (perhaps unintentionally) radiates arrogance for your faith.
