I almost asked how do you scare them away but that wouldn't be good would it?
We have even seen them at dusk. They like the grubs in our lawn and the garbage that the neighbours put out the night before.

This is a serious answer, I am not kidding or makeing this up: Piss all over your yard! Old experts, and people who live in the wild, all say that ,that will keep all animals away from your outside area. I found out that it works! A couple of years ago we lived by this rotten man who hated animals and he set out this big cage, (live trap) to catch all kinds of animals. I once asked what does he do with them and he said he turns them loose miles away at some park, well I wasn't sure if I believed him or not. Different nights I would see things in the cage, like: opossums, racoons, and even some cats, and I would sneek in his yard around 3AM and let those poor animals loose, then unset the damn trap so no others could be caught that night. Well he got smart, and put a padlock on his fence, even though he never knew how the animals were escaping. The next night, I saw 4 baby racoons in the cage crying for their momma, who was outside the cage talking to them and biteing at it trying to get to her babies, well no way was I gonna stand for that, so I climbed the fence, freed the babies, who all ran with their mother into the woods, unset the cage and went home. It was at that time, that I remember hearring about putting urine all over your area to keep animals away and the next day I took all day filling up an old masson jar full of my urine. Well that night, I climbed the fence again and splashed urine all over that cage, then I poured some all over his yard, in places under the fence where the animals were comming in, and would you believe it, no animals were ever caught in that damn cage again! It really worked! A couple of days later, the cage was removed for good and he was filling in those places under his fence. He never caught anymore animals and I was able to get some sleep at night cause I no longer had to worry about the trapped animals! I know it sounds gross and embarressing, but the urine does really work!

Once a skunk decided to dig a hole and live underneath a toolshed that we had just built at my parents' place. I thought my dad was crazy but he put some mothballs around the hole and that seemed to get rid of them. btw skunks aren't much trouble as long as you don't surprise them at night. Baby skunks are terribly cute... as long as you keep your distance from the parents!

You could get something like this for your yard...They worked very well for me with my deer problem. They are high priced though but a couple should do you just fine. They've even kept stray dogs and cats out of our trash quite effecively...

Price shop around...I got mine much cheaper than on this site. I only paid $30.00 each for mine from Atwoods I think...

Good luck...
