I do it as a reminder to never allow myself to be in that position again. It's always there, making me pay attention to the "little red flags" that we ALL choose to ignore when getting involved with people.

You can move rings to the right hand after spouse has passed away. It is not normally done after divorce. After a divorce, the rings shouldn't be worn at all.

I don't know about divorce, but my family has a tradition of wearing deceased loved ones ring on the right hand. Example, My father wore his fathers ring after he died, My father passed and I now wear that same ring,(my grandfathers because I knew him better) my little brother now wears my fathers ring. So the tradition goes on.

I've never heard that one, when I got divorced, I just stopped wearing the rings.

It must be a fabulous ring if you have chosen to continue to wear it. Just remember, if no one else likes that you wear it you can always tell them to, "shove off!"

It is not necessary, just throw it away! There is no reason for keeping the eternal symbol of unity if you are divorsed.
