To be quite honest, (and to my discredit), I haven't read my Bible in a very long time. Although I enjoy my time in the Word and in prayer, I've failed to make day-to-day time for God, and with Him.

Consider how priceless that is! Instead of typing out this answer, I could be reading James. Instead of answering questions on politics, I could be reading about Christ's sacrifice for all of us. There is no greater gift to us, than God's Matchless Glory...His Son. What wouldn't I want to spend time reading about Him?

So here's the bottom line: We have been given a priceless opportunity to read and study about our Savior in God's Word, the Bible. The time has come to shut off the computer, and spend time with my Lord.

Thank you for your question. You have caused me to open my eyes, and breathe in the fresh air of heaven.

God bless you.

I read my Bible in either my living room, bed room, church. I help teach grade schoolers at Church. The Bible is what I have heard called A manual for what God gave us. That being all that we are, all that God as provided for us.If you are considering A Bible keep in mind there are several translations. The one I find easy to read & understand is called the Life Application Bible. It gives background on what you are reading, and is written in words we speak.

I did. (I read 1 John 4:3-5)

but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.

I thought about the different "religions" that exist today; and the diversity in the various beliefs...than when I read this, it only confirmed the concept that there are alot of people being led astray by "counterfeit" religions...and that, anything which preaches anything different than 'true Christianity' is from the antiChrist.

(I bet I'll get alot of slack for this answer...but oh well....Got to call a spade "a spade.") lol...I just wish I had more tact.

What section did you read?

God Bless.

I did and funny you should ask. I told my wife earlier something that I had read in Revelations last night this following passage...

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

I couldn't help but think of reading that last night the moment I heard this morning that Abu Musaf Al-Zarqawi was killed.

As for what I read today...

1 Peter Chapter 3

I threw my bibles in the trash about a year ago. It was such a relief to break the spell of that repressive collection of superstitious nonsense.
