But Pancha, how do you know
FOR SURE
that they are "illegals."
Do you have proof?
Can you tell by just looking?
Have you checked for ID?
Have you scanned the microchips installed in their sculls?

Believe it or not, all American citizens are not rich. Some don't have much education at all, yet they still live in this country and have to work for a living. There are many of them who will do those jobs. When the illegal immigrant can no longer get that job, the employer will be forced to pay a U.S. citizen a higher wage for the same job. If that employer has hired illegal aliens as 75% of his workforce, he could be in serious legal trouble, with stiff fines. He would be better off hiring U.S. citizens for $6.50 or $7.00/hr. Some U.S. American citizens would probably take the $6.00/hr, to start, with a raise in few months. There is no job a U.S. American citizen won't do. We just demand a better pay than slave wages. Even the least educated can get a job for $7.00/hr if he's willing to work for it. There are some citizens of the USA, as well as anywhere else, that don't want to or can't physically do laborious jobs. That is beside the point, illegal immigrants shouldn't be taking any job in the USA at any wage.

If there were no illegals to do these jobs at such low pay, the shrimp house would have to pay a living wage for the jobs and just have to do with a little less profit for their own pockets for a change, and American citizens would do the jobs. Illegals depress wages. Employers will NOT go out of business if they have to pay decent wages, they will just have slightly smaller profit margins. Why should the employers be getting extra rich off of ripping off slave labourers by not paying them a living wage? If amnesty were given to all these illegals (if most of them even really wanted it), then the "illegals" would now be "legals" and they also would no longer be interested in doing these "jobs no Americans will do." Now, if they are "legal" and having to pay income taxes and all of the other deductions on their paycheques, they will demand a living wage, also. Then, unless the borders are actually sealed up tight, there won't be anymore "illegals" willing to do these jobs for $6/hr and the employers will have to pay properly. Also, if the government is serious and severely punishes employers who hire illegals, the employers will stop doing that once and for all, and there will no longer be the motivation for illegals to come to the US and they will still come, but they will now apply for work visas and come legally and work for decent wages and pay their fair share of taxes. They will be able to have medical, drivers licenses, buy car insurance and any other insurance they want, file their tax returns, and be able to stop living in the shadows and no longer be always looking over their shoulders and live in dignity with their heads up, proudly! What can possibly be wrong with this???

Do you honestly think that the hippie has a college education? You give him too much credit to say he will actually work. In reality he probably already does one of the "jobs Americans won't do." I see him as a fast food worker who goes home to his trailer every night and listens to Willie Nelson.

So the employers will now have to pay a competitive wage? Whats wrong with that. Certainly you don't think the gringo's will stop eating shrimp or buying it even at twice the cost?

I agree with YO!. I have seen you question how people "know" that someone is illegal and here you are making the same judgment. I would say this, I am sure that there are plenty of Americans that would do those jobs.

THERE ARE QUITE A BIT OF JOBS THAT AMERICAN CITIZENS PROBABLY WERE NOT EVEN GIVEN A CHANCE TO HAVE!!!!BECAUSE THESE COMPANIES WANT ILLEGALS TO WORK FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY WORK CHEAP AND MAYBE THE ILLEGALS DON'T REALLY COMPREHEND JUST HOW MUCH THEY ARE BEING UNDERPAID!!!!

someone will. someone who's kids are starving will take the job. and if they won't, oh well. if these immigrants are illegal, they shouldn't be here period, unless they have a valid visa. otherwise, they need to do it the legal way, like everyone else.
