Windows XP Tablet Edition has speech recognition software, but it will only let me train it. I need to know how to use it or turn it on. I also need to know what programs it is most useful on.

I believe the program you are looking for is e-Speaking at (www.e-Speaking.com). This program uses the Microsoft Speech Application Interface (SAPI) which you have already installed on your system and begun the training.

The e-Speaking program allows you to assign programs, keyboard macros, and launch documents, websites, mouse clicks, etc. etc. using commands that are recognized by the SAPI speech engine. e-Speaking was designed as a graphical front-end software to the Microsoft Speech Engine. e-Speaking was specifically designed for Windows XP systems.

e-Speaking is shareware and has a 30 day trial period. Please feel free to give it a try and see if it suppliments what you are seeking to do.

Several videos showing e-Speaking are available for you to view online at YouTube.com

Once you complete the training, which can take quite a while, the software should be ready to accept voice commands. Try starting with word!
