Mixed emotions -- You see I don't personally see anything wrong with it and I think all the commotion around it is the superpowers (insurance companies, political lobbies, politicians) attempt to deny benifits to people who live together as a family (gay or not). You see, in my opinion, as soon as they get every one into a moralist whip over gays being married and make it totally illegal. Then they can deny benifit to people who live together for long terms. They can deny insurance (medical, life, disability...) to people who are dependent on a partner. They can deny SSI. They can even deny simple colision and home owner insurance claims. I think that's wrong. Because the citizen is paying the premium and should be able to insure whoever they want.

By outlawing gay marriage, they set the stage to deny common law marriages, sibling coverage (what if you and your sib decide to live together long term and care for your children -- one sibling works and insures the kids the other takes care of the home). Parenting partnerships -- again two friend who decide to raise a child together.

I think it's a conspiracy to protect the good ole boy establishment and they do it by getting people all whip up about something that really has no effect on their everyday lives based on some unclear moral stance

Now, I'm suspicous by nature so I may be just over conspiriacizing (new word ;-) things.

But then maybe it just wrong. I don't know -- I mean that's what I've been told all my life -- but I don't believe everything I've been told -- I don't know

Should be allowed. Heterosexual marriages have been allowed for a long time, and you see what the divorce rate is, maybe it's time that someone let some change occur. How can someone protect the "sanctity" of marriage if only certain people can get married, and divorce is freely allowed? Why does marriage have to be prevented? Those who aren't gay, and don't like gays getting married shouldn't vote on it then, and just go on ignoring gays as usual. They're just spiteful people. That's my opinion.

The should be able to marry. What makes heterosexual any better? I know alot of gay people and 90% of them are in long term relationships. Where as most of my strait friends have had many partners. If they are happy then why can't they do they same as us and make their life's together official? It's not what the person is but who the person is as a whole. And anyone that says it is gross and immoral what do you do in your life that is so moral I am pretty sure you can find at least 1 thing you do in your life that is immoral.

Many voters and politicians are being bigots. I have listened to radio talk shows and read tons of stuff on the Internet, and I have yet to see or hear an argument for banning gay marriage that makes sense to me. I am a Christian. I am against persecuting others and I expect to be persecuted. Gay people being allowed to get married is not going to affect my heterosexual marriage one bit. It is not going to affect my childrens' world views, but thinking that HATE is OK because it's officially sanctioned by the government might. Let the church do as it will, but the state needs to allow minorities their basic civil rights.

I agree with your 3rd answer!!!
I am not gay but this is what I am thinking:

Wat is the problem!!! Does having gay marriges affect the way you think??? Does it hurt you or harm you or anyone you know in any way??? Then WHY do you have to stop it?!?!?!?!?!?

What is your problem with not letting other people get married when it isn't your business in the first place!!! If they like each other, fine. It isn't gonna affect me. So why are we so prejudiced?

Biblically wrong but I have sympathy for someone who wants to do the right thing biblically but is torn by longing to have a relationship with someone of the same sex. Sorry if that sounds intolerant but I believe in what the bible says.

I like the old saying

"God made Adam for Eve, NOT Steve."

Same sex relationships are not ment to be and its morally wrong. I hate when people try to justify it by saying 'some people are born gay'. Thats the biggest BullSh*t I have ever heard.

I think that gays are human being and are entitled to being happy so why shouldnt they have rights, marriage would give them priviledges that are needed such as health insurance for their partner, so I dont know what the big deal is...

I dont like gay people but they still people and have rights. let them do what they want. still gross though! But i'd vote to let them get married. Everyone should have rights in this country regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation!!

we are all humans, we all have needs, we all have feelings and thoughts, and dreams we are all the same regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation. we all want happiness. the right thing to do would be to allow gay marriage.
