The main reason why it is hard for the human race to believe in Jesus is "SIN." Before the original sin of Adam and Eve, mankind had perfect communion with God. However, after they sinned against God sin entered the world. So, after the Garden of Eden everything was and still is bent towards a sinful incline. Before sin, man desired to be close to God and to be completely dependent upon Him; After sin came, mankind has tried to be self sufficient and not rely on God. Before sin, mankind had a natural desire to love God; after sin, mankind has desired to love people and things rather God. Sin is what separates mankind from God and this separation is what keeps mankind from wanting to accept and believe in Jesus. It is a sad, sad story.

Perhaps your questions isn't as honest you've tried to make it appear. It seems to me that what you are asking is this. "Why is it so hard for the human race to believe WHAT I BELIEVE about Jesus (or anything else)?"

What is it that you believe that the human race is ignorant about? What is your objective proof?

What is it about YOUR belief that is objective and does NOT require "faith" as you see it?

1st Corinthians v18. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God. v19 for it is written I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate....We teach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles.

The world in blinded in sin. It is only through the quickening of the Holy Spirit, that we are saved. Jesus comes calling on us, to offer salvation. If someone is lost in sin, they can have no understanding of the sacrifice of the cross. They cant understand much less believe in Jesus. be blessed.

It's not hard for anyone to believe in him. He's a historical figure, that's fact that everyone accepts.

I just don't think he's the son of god. Why not? God knocks up some virgin (who happened to also be married, are we really believing Joseph isn't the father here?) and then sends his son to a horrible, horrible death (at least it gets you out in the open!)...Does this sound realisitc to you? Oh, yeah, and then he rises from the dead. That's super likely, way more likely than, say, grave robbers.

I don't know. Many people will believe that we all came from easter bunnys than to believe Jesus is Lord. Did you know the new crazy theory is that our ansesters came from Mars, and life evolved there insted of here, that is why missing links are not on earth.? It's all stupid. People are so blind to the Truth. Jesus is Truth.

For me, it's simple. The basic story of a godman or son of god coming to earth to save his people, being sacrificed before the world, raising from the dead and then ascending to heaven, is a common story among ancient pagan cultures.

I call myself Pagan, but I do not believe in these stories even in paganism, so why would I believe it from another religion?

I believe in him...I just don't worship him. Christ's message has been corrupted by Jewish and Roman figures of his time to perpetuate one of God's cardinal sins...worshipping no god before HIM. They used Christ as a martyr to establish foundations of Christianity, a fear based religion that they could use to keep control over the masses.

Jesus had the right message. Use his message rightly, and you will find a God of your own understanding. He was the son of God, just as you are, and I am, and everyone else on this planet is.

I believe Jesus was real, I just find immaculate conception to be a bit of a stretch.

Because, think about it from their standpoint, people try to think rationally, and a belief in Jesus is based mostly on faith which isn't considered "rational". We can't physically see Jesus so that makes it very hard for people to put their faith in Him.
