The full bond must be paid if they do not show up in court, not the 10% it took to get the person out.

If the person doesn't show up at his/her court hearing, the bondsman loses whatever amount of money the bail was, and you lose the 10% that you paid. The bail bondsman will sometimes hire a bounty hunter to go after the person.

Good grief. When did you stop going to school? If a bond is paid and the person doesn't show up for court, there is a warrant issued for his/her arrest.

You lose your money. You will have to take the deadbeat to small claims court to get your money back. Never post bond for anyone -- not even a family member. Let them stay in jail.

Only pay it if you want whoever it is to go free. If you pay it then the bond company has no reason to go after that person.

You will have to sue them for the money but he/she is in a lot more trouble.
You've paid so you will just have to swallow the loss if there is a slim chance you will get the money back.
