I've heard that you shouldn't shower after getting out of the bed, that you'd lose your tan. I've also heard that you should take a cold shower that it closes your pores and helps you keep your tan longer. I've also heard not to shower before because you are ridding your body of the oil in the skin that helps maintain the tan. Thank you for your time.

I would shower after. I never saw or heard anything about losing your tan, you get all sweaty in a tanning bed so of course you should shower after wards, and what if it wasn't properly sanitized.

Shower before the bed, put on a good tanning lotion before you tan (such as Drama Queen or Spellbound by Designer Skin), wait at least 4 hours before showering, then put on a good moisturizer such as Angel or Total Immersion. This will help extend your tan and keep you skin protected!

i've heard all of that too. but what works for me is taking a shower before hand and then waiting about 4 hours later to take another one. you want to rid your body of the dead skin cells by taking a shower first, and waiting to take a shower afterwards is just to let it "soak" in. i've stopped using the tanning bed, because i got tired of showering so much.

Your supposed to wait and shower in tepid water 3-4 hours after you tan (both bed and sun).

i'd shower before you go there and after. you don't know how many people have layed down in that paticular tanning bed and you wouldn't know the previous person's hygiene

I would shower before and after because you don't know how clean those things are. they did a thing on the news here where they tested them for germs and bacteria, and they didn't do so good

Sorry, I dunno, I would like to help ya, but I don't tan. Not only that I can't tan well, cause I don't.....but that I don't like to or really want to. I don't want skin cancer, I like myself the way I am. And you should, too!
