Kennels here in N. Viriginia are $25-$40 a day for basic services, and dog walkers are anywhere from $10-18 for a half hour visit. Some will give a break for multiple visits in a day, but I'd expect to pay $30 minimum for three visits. Figure in how much time you'll be spending with the dog compared to a couple visits a day versus staying right at the house and what your relationship is with the neighbor to figure out a fair price.

Putting a dog in a kennel can cost anywhere from $20 - $ 50 a night, depending on the amount of care that they are giving your dog.
I would say that $25-$30 for the weekend sounds about right if you are going to be with the dog the whole weekend. If you are just dropping in a few times a day to walk and feed it then $15 - $20 seems fair.
Or ask her just to bring you back something from their trip or take you out for lunch if you feel uncomfortable asking for money.
Or if you have a dog or cat you could offer suggest that you do a swap, the next time you need someone to watch your animal(s) they watch them for you.
Hope that helps.

I would do it for free. It's only for the weekend and I am a huge animal lover. Even though I wouldn't accept any money, you should check what the rate for boarding in a kennel is in your area. In my city it's about $20 a day. It would be inappropriate to accept more than that.

Find out what your local kennels and vets charge per day. Your services should be worth at LEAST that much for the dog being kept in his own home and not exposed to the stress and possible kennel cough from being boarded.

well if the dog is not a trouble maker and is house train and is not violent, well i would only charge her like 5.00 dollars a day,but its fair to ask for ten.because you are going to be doing all the caring for a whole weekend.and dogs are much like kids.good luck.
