one day about a week ago i discovered that my dog (a labrador mix) had a tick behind his ear so i pulled it out without leaving any of it still in my dog's body, now i have noticed that where the tick was he has a big red bump with a little hole on the top what should i do?

I know this is scary for us dog-owners! I had the same experience with my dog. After we pulled the tick out, there was a bump there that stayed for a couple of weeks. I called the vet and they said it was probably just skin building around the head, if the head was there. They said it would eventually go down, but if not, to call. They were right, it kept getting smaller and smaller and went away. I would just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start to look worse. The suggestion about putting neosporin is a good idea.

The area is probably just agitated. Either that or you didn't get the head. It's possible that you agitated the tick, it dug its head in and when you pulled it out the head remained. The head of a tick can keep on sucking your dog's blood, it will just grow a new body. I would wait and see if it does. If it does, just take a paper towel and quickly pull it out. Look at it's front and you should see it's head. If you don't then you missed it again. If you need help, ask a vet.

go to the vet and they will give u some stuff and use it. Takes few weeks to work. Oh yeah, buy your dog a collar(the one where it blocks the dog from scratching any part of the head) asap.

I would try putting some Neosporin on it first. If that dosent' clear it up in a few days, then I would recommend calling your vet.
