don't TELL HER, GET YOUR NEW PLACE AND SLOWLY START MOVING YOUR STUFF THEIR, THEN START SPENDING THE NIGHT, BY THE TIME YOU TELL HER SHE'LL BE READY TO HEAR IT.

Mom, I've made a decision. I need to experience life on my own so I can learn to be independent, so I've decided I'm moving out.
Or, Mom, I've found this cute little apartment. May I please have some sheets and towels and the old set of dishes, silverware and pots and pans. And the windows are about this big. Do you have any old curtains or drapes that you think will fit? May I take my bedroom set, too? Would you loan me some money for a microwave? I love you so much Mom. It's been great living at home.

Crud! I know the feeling...I am a mom.
You are gonna have to 'talk' to her and be able to tell her in a whole lot more words than you can ever get from this place.
Let her know how you feel. If she really loves you....then she will let you go..
BUT! She probably won't be too far...just incase you need her.
She probably knows that you are unhappy. At least she should. She really should. If she's on her toes anyway.
Good luck.
And if you aren't old enough to go...then she won't let you go.
If you are unhappy over something that is just 'life' then, don't sweat it. Stick around. Grow up.
Hopefully when you are 'really' ready to go.. your mom will know too.

It depends on your relationship with your mom. If you really think that it would devastate her, you may want to sugar-coat it by coming up with a reason of some sort. Closer to work, a need for self-discovery, etc.
However, it's always best to keep it real and just tell her straight. She'll appreciate it in the long run and treat you more as an adult.
Good luck.

sit down with her or maybe take her out to dinner, just the two of you. tell her that you love her to death but you would both be better off if you lived somewhere else. if youre over 18 dont feel to bad about it she might be sad but youre an adult now, and if youre under 18 do your best to make her understand and let her know its going to change your relationship for the better.

ON THE REAL TIP,BEEN THERE,DONE THAT @ AGE 28.YOU NEED TO BE AN ADULT ABOUT THE SITUATION AND STAND YOUR GROUND NO MATTER HOW THINGS TURN OUT.SHE MAY BE UPSET FOR AWHILE BUT EVENTUALLY SHE'LL COME AROUND.IF THERE'S SOME ALTERNATIVE REASON TO YOU MOVING OUT,I.E.DOMESTIC PROBLEMS THEN YOU ALSO NEED TO BE UP FRONT AND EXPLAIN THAT ALSO.THE ONLY,THING IS TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVEE ALL YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW BEFORE YOU DO MOVE OUT.

I think that waiting too long would crush her more...
Soon as possible is the best way and start with a positive and leave out alot of the negatives if you can avoid it.
Obviously you have respect for your mother so maybe even include or start with that.

You wait for her to go to work and you have all your friends ready and you swoop in and get all of your stuff out of the house and into your new place. Then you go to Mom's and be there when she comes home and you tell her that you're moving out - at any time during the fight that ensues, you can walk out and go home.

There is not going to be a way that you can stop your mom heart from breaking, I know when I told my mom hers was broke to. but you have to do what you have to do. All I did was, I set her down and told that I wanted to move to Cleveland, she said that she understood but was not about it, but I was grown and I have to live my life. and so I made that BIG MOVE from Alabama to Cleveland. I hope this help some.

If you are physically and financially capable of taking care of yourself, she should have no problem with it. It is a mother's fear factor for her children to let them "fly" like a bird. Once you're gone for a few weeks, she will get used to it. Just let her know that you are OK. every once in awhile. Believe it or not it's call Mother's Love.
