I'm an atheist. I noticed lots of christians say they have faith in god. Do you have faith in god to stop holy wars, stop natural dissasters, Stop Christians from being afraid of people that dont share their belief, Stop Christians from being enslaved in Africa or What? Simply having faith by itself is useless. It has to be accompanied by some sort of action that you're hoping god will do. I noticed when god doesn't come through, Christians usually say things like "it happen for a reason" How could you have faith in god to do something when you know there's a possibility that it may not go the way you want. but you still have faith. That means your faith means nothing.

I also noticed lots of Christians blame god for anything that happens that's good. If an atheist save your life, you would probably use that as a faith story.

we (meaning Christians) should have faith in God, not in what God will do for us. i have faith that He exists, that He created us, that He loves us, and that He sacrificed His Son to save us, and that is the only way we can be saved. these are all different things that i have faith in.

Faith is for things hoped for; for unseen things. If they were seen you wouldn't need faith.
Faith is definitely not useless. It's believing the best case scenario. For example, if someone you know has cancer it's praying not just for "God's will to be done" but praying that the cancer will vanish for good, and the person will regain their weight and because they've used their minds for good in their lives and built all kinds of connections inside their brains, and the surgeon cut out a part of it -- then you believe that all those connections will work their way around the missing part and join together and heal. I'm getting carried away.
Or suppose you have a friend or someone you love who is down-and-out and has moved to a new city but doesn't have a place and is camping in the mountains. Then you pray and have faith to believe, that because he trusts in God, that God will look after him. And you pray that he will find a decent place to live, and new opportunities will open for him and he'll seek help and find it.
And you keep on with your prayers because you love him. And you know God loves you and answers your prayers. And the more you see your prayers answered, the more faith you have.

I have faith that God exist. I have faith that the bible is true and that what is says is true. I have faith that Jesus will return. I have faith that God knows what is best for me and that He will not put anything on me that I cannot handle. And so far He hasn't. There have been times that I thought that I couldn't handle something and then I leaned on God and He always got me through. You can question my faith if you want, it won't change it, or anything that God has done in my life and is still going to do. Have a great night.

I don't think you understand the nature of faith. God does not serve us by giving us what we want, when we want it. Faith is about our servitude to God; us giving Him what He wants.
Sin is the cause of all the worlds problems. Mankind alone cannot solve these problems, that is - defeat sin. We need God's help. God's assistance is a necessity. But again, God is not going to do the work for us. He wants us to take the initiative to do His Will will His Assistance.
Those who take the initiative and do God's Will, and pray for His assistance - will get it.
If more people had faith, prayed, and did God's Will, there would be less evil in the world. unforntunately, most people don't do that.
They what you do - Give up too easily and mock those who are doing the right thing.

your right it does say in the Bible Faith without works is dead. As Christians if we don't live out our faith in Christ it is dead, just like a plant that's not watered or shown sunlight. Having faith in God is not believing because we'll change God ,but rather he changes us. Things happen that we don't know why God allowed...Jesus dying on the Cross for our sins when he was a just and perfect man, but God knows and he will show us. It says in the Bible we see through a glass darkly ,but then we will see face to face someday God will show why things happened and I pray you also will be there when he does. God Bless You.

I have faith in GOD to do lots of things and if you believe in the bible you will have faith, because of davids faith he was able to beat the giant goliath, it says in the bible you can move mountains with faith. Let me tell you a true story that proves having faith can work a woman at my church last year said to me that she was worried about her husband because he stopped taking his heart medication because he told her that GOD told him to stop taking it and he listened, now he was supposed to take this medication for the rest of his life but because he had faith in what God said he stopped taking his medicine and when he and his wife went to the doctor, the doctor couldn't even find a heart problem, you can believe this if you want but I doubt that you will and I have a lot more of where that came from, including my own stories of faith. As in having faith in GOD to stop holy wars or natural dissaters GOD uses everything for good even events like wars, perfect example the crucification of CHRIST and it is not always for us to understand these things that is where we got in trouble in the beginning, eve being curious and wanting to know that is how satan convinced her to take the apple. Also you need to thank GOD because he is a good GOD if it wasn't for him allowing us to choose you wouldn't have a choice of being an atheist. I have a task for you, why don't you for three months seek GOD out read the bible or the purpose driven life (good alternative) fellowship with christians and pray to GOD, you have nothing to loose and you will see for yourself that he exists, you will start to feel happier in your life I bet right now you fell empty and unaware of why you are here. Try it and if it doesn't work in 3-6 months you will get your money back guaranteed lol. Remember no matter what you have ever done in life GOD forgives and is waiting to receive you he received paul who was a killer of christians and used him and his actions for good.
GOD bless

we have faith in Jesus to save us from judgment, according to Christianity, we are born into sin and deserve to die for it no matter how good we are. But faith in Jesus will save us from the judgment and punishment that sin brings. it does not mean we are perfect in anyway, it just means we will be spared because of our faith...we also have faith that God is in control of everything...that He has a higher plan that we cannot conceive of...we as Christians should do our part in actions...but we should also recognize we are never ultimately in control of anything...what is most important is keeping a positive attitude and keeping our hope, without hope many people lose the will to live...

God did not create Wars or any evil "Man" did !!!!!
We all are Gods children so with that, we have to have faith in our selves as we are all a piece of God.
People find it so easy to blame God but what ever happen to Self Responsibility.
If people just took the time to think about what is happening on Earth they will see that it is Mans own destruction that is killing the Earth and the people on it.
Love & Blessings

I'm not a christian but i understand faith. Its not faith in an action. Its faith that it will all be ok no matter what. it's taking the things you can't control and knowing you don't need too.

I have faith in God, not so much in knowing all that He plans to do, but I trust that He plans to do much in all.
