They would always tell Walter Cronkite to shut up.
If a scary movie was on,they would yell at the characters.

this deserves ten points, because it made me cry. so when my grandmother died(i was three weeks old) my grandpa remarried. he died and my new grandma was super religious, and unsupportive of my being jewish. i was eight, and my cousin(not really) and i were practicing the piano. she asks if i want to go to church. i say which do u go to. she's like the one where we think that all the jews are going to the h-word. so i end up crying. because she says my grandpa on the other side is already there. i tell my grandma. she's like- sorry honey. but it's true, you're dead grandpa's going there, your other grandma is there, you're dad's going, and you're going to go. it's just what we believe in,but u can fight the evil. ...i was so shocked. they then asked me are u sure u don't want to go with us. while they were gone i called my parents and asked to go home but they had to drive and i had to wait two days. two awful days.

my grandfather is a "water witch" (dowser). He would be asked from companies and people all around our county to come find water (when they were looking to dig wells, etc.) He found water by breaking a V-shaped branch off of a tree, holding it in the palms of his hands and walking the land until the stick shot downward. Then he could tell you exactly how far down the water would be found by the pull of the stick. It's bizarre, and I tried to do it over and over, but never could.... but it was fascinating to watch.
also, they have something against paying money for anything, so when one of my grandfathers teeth fell out, instead of getting a false one put in with his other false teeth, he widdled a new tooth out of an old toothbrush handle and super-glued it in with his other false teeth. ...... that's not all.... this happened the day that I brought my boyfriend home to meet them.... my grandfather told us all about it, as he was very proud of his cleverness.

hey had a bunch of pot growing on the side of their barn and didn't even know it...and my Papa was a Baptist minister! Not sure if this falls in the weird category but I sure laugh when I think about it. My mother had a yard sale on their farm and this guy that bought a box of trophies offered my grandparents $100 to cut down their "weeds" for them and haul them away! They went for it..lmao!!

my grandpa liked to take me and my cousins 'bear hunting' in the woods without a gun. he would tell us that if a bear came up to us, we had to stand up straight and tall and look him right square in the eyes and that would scare him away. so we would walk along paths in the woods and he would throw rocks and sticks to make us think a bear was coming until we ran screaming for our lives back to the car and sat in the floor of the back seat crying all the way home.

Would not let us go into a particular room. The door was kept shut. I had been in there and there was nothing in there but junk. Did not understand why they did not want us to go in there.

every morning my grandma would bake a cake and then smash it on my grandpa's face while they were watching tv, also my grandpa would put on clown make-up and then do yard work all day long, and then after he was done doing yard work, he would do the hokey pokey and turn himself around, and thats what its all about!
